Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is a horrible program.  It is buggy, full of security holes, and makes you vulnerable to spyware, adware, and other malicious code which can steal your passwords to important websites.  But there are alternatives that are much more secure with better features.  I recommend (all are completely free):

The Democrat culture of corruption continues.  Wealthy Democrat donor Raj Rajaratnam, founder of hedge fund Galleon Group, was charged with insider trading.  Rajaratnam is a supporter of Barack Obama.  He donated $4,600 to Obama and $30,800 to Obama Victory Fund in 2008.

Why did ABC News mention the donations to Hillary Clinton in the first paragraph, but wait until the second page to mention the donations to Barack Obama when Obama received much more money than Hillary did from Rajaratnam?

Hillary Clinton received a total of $6,500 in donations from Rajaratnam.  Barack Obama received a total of $35,400.

It seems to me that Obama should have been mentioned first.  Not only since he received five times the money that Hillary did, but because he is President.

Democrat voters in Detroit–almost all African-Americans–went wild while waiting in line for free welfare cash in Detroit the other day. A reported 35,000 people showed up for free money for rent and utility payment assistance.

Fights broke out.  Shoving occurred.  People were nearly trampled.

After serving only 8-1/2 months in office and with no accomplishments of any kind, President Barack Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

If anyone had any doubts that the Nobel Prize Committee is a joke, this should remove them.

Obama was awarded the Peace Price for 2009 “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

And what efforts would those be?

In a press release, the Nobel Committee said:

The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.

This “vision” is not a vision, it is insanity.  There will never be a world without nuclear weapons.  Anyone with a brain knows this, which apparently excludes the members of the Committee who awarded the prize.

The Committee adds further:

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play.

I recall President George W. Bush going before the United Nations many times to ask for cooperation in dealing with rogue states and states attempting to acquire nuclear weapons.  Bush insisted on working with other nations in dealing with North Korea and Iran.  Bush also requested international input into the affairs of Afghanistan and Iraq.

So what has Obama done that Bush didn’t do?  Nothing.  The difference, however, is that Obama is a liberal fraud who spews meaningless rhetoric that mindless liberals such as those on the Prize Committee like to hear, even if that rhetoric isn’t based in reality.

The press release adds:

Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts.

No kidding?  Bush tried to negotiate with Iraq before deposing Saddam Hussein, even going so far as to offer Saddam exile for him to peacefully step down.  Bush also negotiated with North Korea.

The press release further states:

The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations.

No, it has done no such thing.  No nuclear-armed nation in its right mind would surrender the only tool that can almost surely guarantee that it will never be conquered.

The Committe states:

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future.

Hope?  Obama’s meaningless speeches filled with drivel written by other people that he reads off of teleprompters is enough to award a Nobel Peace Prize these days?  Ridiculous!

Perhaps the Committee isn’t aware that terrorist-related violence in Iraq and Afghanistan has soared since Obama took over the reins.

Which is what makes the awarding of this year’s prize to a president who has been in office for a mere nine months an odd departure. It is as if the prize committee had been persuaded to give the award on the future delivery of promises.

The reality is that the prize appears to have been awarded to Barack Obama for what he is not. For not being George W Bush. Or rather being less like the last president. The question now is whether having being anointed perhaps too early by the committee, a Nobel prize earned so cheaply and at so little cost will help him in his efforts on the international stage or rather be an albatross around his neck. Something against which all his future efforts will be judged – and perhaps found wanting.

President Barack Hussein Obama is doing a terrific job keeping his campaign promise to create millions of jobs.  Obama has created -3.558 million jobs since taking office (Feb – Sept).

For those of you Democrats out there, that means Obama has lost 3,558,000 jobs from February through September of this year.

What I find most interesting is how job cuts spiked the month Obama was elected.  In September 2008, 321,000 jobs were cut. In October, 380,000 jobs were cut. But in November when Obama was elected, 597,000 jobs were lost.

November is when stores, restaurants, factories, and other businesses hire seasonal workers to help with the Christmas rush.  But last year, job cuts jumped 57% over the prior month when Obama was elected.

Why would businesses cut jobs after Obama was elected?  Maybe because he promised massive increases in income, investment, and other taxes.

The only thing tax increases do is push jobs overseas.  Despite a stabilized economy and job growth in other countries around the world, hundreds of thousands of jobs are still being lost in America each month because of Obama’s and the Democrats’ promised tax increases.

This is just the beginning.  Carbon taxes will increase the cost of every product and service manufactured and sold in the country.  That will have a devastating effect on aggregate demand and jobs.

People aren’t stupid.  They know that in the end this massive spending has to come from somewhere.  With a budget deficit expected to reach $9 trillion over the next 10 years, business owners know the Democrats are going to be coming after them for more and more every year.  The smart ones are setting up shop overseas and are getting out now.

Rich musical performers who travel all over the world in jets, sleep in fancy hotels, tour in buses, ride in limousines, and put on concerts with extravagant light shows and sound systems that consume large amounts of electricity have recorded a song to raise awareness about global warming.

Isn’t it nice that people who pollute more in a month than the average person does in a lifetime are going to tell us to be more concerned about carbon dioxide emissions and global warming?

The reason given by Democrats for the need for caps on carbon dioxide emissions is to reduce the amount of CO2 going into the atmosphere every year because it causes planetary warming.

So why then are Democrats going to allow the importing of carbon offsets from developing countries?

The plan of Senate Democrats John Kerry of Massachusetts and Barbara Boxer of California sets an initial limit on international offsets of 500 million tons a year, compared with 1 billion tons in the House plan.

Let’s get this straight:  if businesses can’t operate within the government allowed limits for carbon dioxide emissions, they can release more CO2 into the environment by buying credits from foreigners.

Won’t this just send American money overseas to buy mythical carbon offsets to combat mythical global warming?

At least when we send money overseas to buy oil, we get something tangible that can be used to produce other things.  With the Democrats’ scheme, we get nothing but imaginary offsets to an imaginary problem.

And, if we allow companies to buy the ability to release more carbon dioxide, doesn’t this defeat the purpose of carbon caps in the first place?  What, really, is this scheme going to do to reduce CO2 emissions?  Nothing.

Just when you think the Democratic Party cannot come up with more foolish ways to waste taxpayer money, along comes something so stupid it makes you think you are living in an alternate universe.

The Obama administration is going to spend $60 million to identify 10,000 Chicago-area school kids at risk for becoming victims of violence and basically become their mommas.

Financed by federal stimulus grants for two years, the $60 million plan uses a formula gleaned from an analysis of more than 500 students who were shot over the last several years to predict the characteristics of potential future victims, including when and where they might be attacked. While other big city school districts, including New York, have tried to focus security efforts on preventing violence, this plan goes further by identifying the most vulnerable students and saturating them with adult attention, including giving each of them a paid job and a local advocate who would be on call for support 24 hours a day.

That amount of money, $60 million, divided by the number of kids, 10,000, comes to $6,000 per kid for two years, or $3,000 per kid for one year.  The kids get free jobs–which I am sure they will work really hard at–and an on-call nanny.  And those nannies will be, I am certain, Obama supporters who will be paid handsomely for their “work”.

This is just another payback to Obama’s inner-city backers.  More pay-for-play politics from Democrats.

The students at highest risk of violence, by statistics, are most likely to be black, male, without a stable living environment, in special education, skipping an average of 42 percent of school days at neighborhood and alternative schools, and having a record of in-school behavioral flare-ups that is about eight times higher than the average student.

The students at highest risk of violence are black because the people perpetrating the violence are black.  It is interesting how they tend to mention the race of the victims but never the race of the perpetrators.  I guess they don’t want you to know who is committing the crime and violence.  That would be racist, right?

A recent Time magazine article blames the decades-in-the-making downfall of Detroit, MI, on white racism.

That’s right.  When the black population in Detroit increased, whites fled to the suburbs for apparently racist reasons and that caused the problems Detroit faces today.  A few select passages from the article:

Bill Clinton earned well over $100 million from 2001 to 2007.  Last year, Hillary Clinton put their net worth at over $50 million.  He still earns about $10 million a year.

Why doesn’t Bill invest his own money in Haiti?  A fish farm needs $800,000 to feed 2 million people.  That amount of money is a drop in the bucket to someone worth over $50 million.

All liberals are liars and frauds.  They do nothing but talk about helping people while never giving away their own money to do the things they tell others to do.

Democrat Senator John Kerry, in an interview with the Washington Post, insists that the carbon cap and trade legislation he and Barbara Boxer have drafted to combat mythical global warming is not a tax.

Uh huh, right.

Kerry further admits that cap and trade will raise costs for consumers.  Kerry said the following:

In fact, what we’re trying to do is cushion any impact on any industry that might have to raise its rates, and so that’s why we give a rebate to citizens, to make up for that difference.

At least Kerry admits that price inflation will occur as costs from this bill are passed-along to consumers.

But where is this rebate money going to come from?  Will it be borrowed from future generations?  There has to be some tax revenue somewhere to pay for it.

Cap and trade may not impose a direct tax, but it imposes all kinds of indirect taxes.  The cost of energy will rise.  This will impact every man, woman, and child in the country as the cost of every product in every store will rise.  The cost of home energy use will rise, too.

Businesses will have an indirect tax not just in having to buy carbon allowances, but in employee costs to comply with this bill.  Then, businesses that sell excess carbon allowances will be taxed on the profits they make from selling them.

The government is going to impose a cost on industry then give people “rebates” to partially offset the higher costs they experience because of this bill.  That money has to come from somewhere.

The goal of the Democratic Party all along has been to get everyone dependent on the government.  They will raise the cost of everything then send people a “rebate” check which will not come close to offsetting price increases.

But what will economy-wide price increases do to jobs?  It will kill them.  As prices rise, aggregate demand declines.  When demand goes down, jobs are lost.

We came off one of the coolest summers in recorded history.  Last year was below average in temperture, too.  But that isn’t stopping greedy Democrat trial lawyers from pressing ahead with class action lawsuits against coal burning electricity generators and others.

A public nuisance lawsuit against coal burning utility companies.  A class action lawsuit against oil, coal, chemical and insurance companies blaming them for property damages related to Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  It was their carbon dioxide emissions that contributed to “climate change” and magnified the impact of the storm so says the litigants, as if there have never been severe hurricanes before.  And there is an Alaskan coastal town suing ExxonMobil and oil, coal, and electric companies blaming them for thinning ice.

The insanity is just beginning.  Don’t forget:  Democrats blocked Republican tort reform every time it was introduced during the 2000s.

For decades Democrats have been saying that poverty causes crime in order to justify ever expanding welfare programs that reward stupidity and irresponsible behavior with free cash and to excuse criminal behavior among their most loyal voters.

It turns out that Democrats were lying again.

While unemployment rose during 2008, poverty rates rose as well.  It would make sense that the poverty rate would increase as unemployment increases.  However, while the poverty rate was increasing, crime across the United States was decreasing.

So if crime decreases as poverty increases, how does poverty cause crime like murder and rape?  Rape isn’t an economic crime, nor are most murders.

The 2008 violent crime rate was 454.5 offenses per 100,000 inhabitants (a 2.7 percent decrease from the 2007 rate), and the property crime rate was 3,212.5 per 100,000 persons (a 1.6 percent decrease from 2007).

Here’s an interesting passage from the NY Times article:

To put it another way, based on census figures for white and black men of all ages, a black man was roughly six times as likely to be a homicide victim as a white man in 2008.

Apparently, the liberals at the NY Times want us to feel sorry for blacks because they are more likely to be victims of murder.  What the NY Times doesn’t tell you is that blacks are more likely to be victims or murder because blacks are much more likely to commit murder.

The biggest scam artists in the history of the world have all been Democrats.

Allen Stanford who ran an $8 billion certificate of deposit Ponzi scheme.  Yesterday, Democrat fundraiser Norman Hsu was sentenced to 24 years in prison for running a $50 million Ponzi scheme and for violating campaign finance laws so he could illegally steer money to Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Is it purely coincidence that the biggest scammers that have ever lived are all Democrats?  No.  Lying, cheating, and stealing are what Democrats do best.  Every Democrat policy at its core involves stealing money from those who earn it so it can be given to those who didn’t earn it to buy votes.  So it should come as no surprise that scammers are Democrats.

Obama promised to end the wars.  Has he accomplished that?  No.  The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are going to hell under his leadership with more troop deaths now than a year ago.

I could go on and on about Obama’s failures.  There are no accomplishments to be found under his leadership.  Certainly nothing to justify indoctrinating little kids to sing a song praising him.

I thought the world was supposed to love us after the election of Barack Obama.  I thought that Muslim extremist terrorists would no longer hate us because of Obama having grown up in the Muslim world.

It looks like domestic terrorist plots have accelerated since the election of Obama.  A few months ago, a terror plot was broken up in New York.  Then a few days ago, another terror plot targeting New York by an Afghan immigrant was foiled.  Then yesterday, two separate arrests were made in bomb plots in Illinois and Texas targeting skyscrapers.

If anything, the election of Obama has not reduced the irrational hatred of America by radical Muslims.  The election of Obama and his actions as President have demonstrated weakness to those who want to do us harm and they are seizing on the perceived opportunity to strike.

Why else would domestic terror plots be on the rise after Obama took office?

Remember how Democrats said that Republicans were using terrorism as a method of stoking fear in the American people?  It looks like Democrats were lying again.  Terrorism is a real threat not ginned-up by Republicans.

It’s only a matter of time until a terrorist bombing succeeds on American soil now that Democrats are running the country.  If there is any silver lining, it is that the areas to be targeted are inhabited mostly by Democrat voters.

Why is it that the world’s most evil leaders all love President Barack Obama?  Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez had kind words for Obama.  And now terrorist dictator Moammar Gaddafi of Libya does, too.

It’s bad enough when you demand that average people give up more of their money to help people you could help yourself with your own money, but to start a private equity fund to invest in companies to try to make more money takes the cake.  Bono easily makes a few hundred thousand dollars with every concert performance — and they are currently on tour.  Does he need more money?  Why isn’t he giving his money away to help the “poor” he pretends to care about?  Why is Bono investing his money to make more money when there are poor Africans starving to death and dying of disease that he could be helping?

Bono is a total and complete fraud.

Two electric and hybrid car companies largely owned by wealthy contributors to the Democratic Party have received nearly a billion dollars in U.S. government loans.

Tesla Motors received a $465 million government loan to make high-end electric cars.  This week, Fisker Automotive, Inc., received a $529 million government loan to help build a hybrid car in Finland.  Average people could never afford these cars.

Tesla was co-founded by Elon Musk, a big money DFL donor who made a fortune starting PayPal.  Checking the contribution records at fec.gov, I see that the founders of Tesla and most of the car company’s investors are Democratic Party contributors with contributions to many Democrats, including President Barack Obama.  I did not see hardly any contributions to Republicans.

Employees of KPCB have donated more than $2.2 million to political campaigns, mostly for Democrats, including President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that tracks campaign contributions.

There you have it:  more pay-for-play politics from the Democratic Party.  It’s bad enough that Democrat contributors are getting massive loans to build cars that are not yet proven in the marketplace — and may fail — but they are getting loans to build cars that nobody but the rich can afford to buy.  The Tesla sells for over $100,000 and the Fisker is expected to be priced at $89,000.

If this isn’t an example of the Democratic Party using taxpayer money to reward rich political contributors then I don’t know what is.  And Al Gore stands to make even more money as he is a partner of the venture capital firm that co-owns Fisker Automotive.

What’s worse is that these cars aren’t even being built in America.  Tesla makes most of its cars in Europe and it appears that Fisker will, too.  Democrats are using taxpayer money to make loans to companies that won’t even use American labor.

Democrat Senator Max Baucus (of Montana) revealed his idiotic health care plan yesterday. Among the goals of the plan are to lower health care costs and extend coverage to millions of–but not all–uninsured Americans and legal immigrants. Democrats say that under his plan no personal tax increases will be required and that 94% of all Americans will be covered, leaving 6% uncovered. Health insurance coverage will be mandated for all and those who refuse to pay for it themselves will be subsidized by the government. Health insurers will be forbidden from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions and will not be able to impose a lifetime cap on benefits.

Let’s examine this plan and reveal the faulty logic of the dysfunctional Democrat mind.

How will all this be paid for under the Democrat plan? By raising taxes on health care insurers, medical device makers, drug companies, and medical labs.

Democrats will use the revenue from targeted industries to subsidize insurance for those who do not want to pay for it.

Raising taxes on companies leaves them with less money. Higher taxes reduce the rate of return on investment. In order to stay even, which every company will attempt to do, they will raise their prices and pass along the tax increases to consumers.

The cost of health care will increase because of the higher taxes. This will increase the government’s cost of subsidizing health insurance. The government will then need to increase taxes on the targeted industries to cover the higher cost of health care. The targeted industries will pass along the increased taxes to consumers, increasing the government’s cost of subsidizing health insurance. The government will then need to increase taxes on the targeted industries again, which will increase their costs which will be passed onto consumers again.

See how stupid Democrats are?  They think raising tax expenses on the health care industry will lower costs when it will actually increase them.  Baucus’ plan essentially pays for subsidized health insurance by driving up the cost of insurance, creating a never-ending loop of tax increases which will be passed on to consumers.  That’s liberal logic for you.

The company that made the playset for President Barack Obama’s children is slashing jobs and planning to move production to China.

You may remember that Obama promised to create 2 million jobs.  Then, Obama promised to create 3 million jobs.  Later, he promised to create 4.1 million jobs.  Finally a few months ago, Obama said he was going to create or “save” 600,000 jobs in 100 days.  It’s nice to see him getting more precise as he pulls numbers out of thin air.

Millions have lost their jobs since Obama took office, and millions more have lost their jobs since he was elected.  Job cuts spiked the month Obama was elected.  Why?  Because his policies are disastrous for the economy.

Higher income taxes, higher investment taxes, a likely payroll tax for healthcare, higher energy costs from carbon cap and trade taxes–businesses are not waiting for these higher costs to take effect before doing something about it.  Businesses all over the country are estimating the costs of Obama’s massive new taxes and taking evasive action now.  More will follow.

I think unemployment could hit 12% – 15% if these carbon cap taxes get enacted any time soon.  Democrats have been dragging their feet on cap and trade all summer.  The only consolation is that those who put Obama into power will be the ones hurt most by his policies.

Democrat Monica Conyers, a city councilwoman for Detroit and wife of Democrat U.S. Representative John Conyers, admitted in court to accepting bribes from a waste management company seeking business.

The Democrat Culture of Corruption continues.  Mr. Conyers insists that he had no knowledge of his wife accepting bribes.  Yeah, right.

Mrs. Conyers, 44 years old, accepted envelopes containing cash in November and December 2007, before and after the vote.

Democrats made a big deal about a few isolated instances of Republican corruption.  But the Democrats are the dirtiest of the dirty.  Even Barack Obama has taken campaign cash in exchange for steering money.  Obama’s buddy Tony Rezko, convicted of fraud and bribery and implicated in the Rod Blagojevich case, gave campaign contributions to and bought property with Obama.  Obama repaid Rezko through the years by using his political influence to steer taxpayer money to Rezko’s companies.

Unfortunately, the U.S. Justice Department is in disarray following the sham Ted Stevens case and may not aggressively pursue cases against corrupt Democrats like it should.  I think this is by design.  The Department of Justice is headed by Eric Holder, a longtime DFL hack and buddy of Obama’s.  So look for a cover-up regarding Obama’s pay-for-play activities.
