National average gas prices are up a whopping 25% since Barack Hussein Obama took office in January, according to figures released by the Department of Energy.

The average national price for regular unleaded gasonline on report date January 26th, 2009, was $1.862.  As of May 18th, the average national price was $2.331.  That’s an increase of 47 cents per gallon in less than four months of Obama’s presidency.

On December 29th, the last report date for 2008, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was $1.642.

Democrats used to blame Republicans for the high cost of gasoline, even though DFLers did everything they could to prevent new sources of domestic petroleum from being developed all decade long.  One of the first things Obama did after taking office was to block drilling in Utah.  Now that the Democrats control Congress and the Presidency, who are they going to blame now?

Democrats thwarted Republican attempts to expose the lies of Speaker Nancy Pelosi by blocking a probe of her knowledge of waterboarding and other interrogation techniques used by the CIA.

Pelosi has accused the CIA of lying and misleading Congress by claiming she was briefed on the techniques when she was not.  The CIA insists that it is being truthful when it says that Pelosi and others were briefed about US interrogation tactics in September 2002.  Obviously, someone is lying.  And the Democrats are trying to prevent the people from finding out who is being untruthful.  Why?  Probably because Pelosi is the liar.  If the CIA was lying, you can be sure Democrats would want everyone to know it.

Democrats played the typical “Republicans are creating a distraction” card, even though it was the Democrats who rehashed this old news from years ago.  Now that the truth is out that prominent Democrats had full knowledge of the “torture” being conducted against terrorists, they want to bury it again as soon as possible.

A court-appointed liquidator overseeing the liquidation of Democrat scam artist R. Allen Stanford’s banking interests has said there is a $6 billion shortfall between the bank’s assets and liabilities, meaning affected investors are likely to see little of their money recovered.

Stanford, also known as Sir Robert Allen Stanford, is suspected of running a multi-billion dollar ponzi scheme like Bernard L. Madoff did.  Not surprisingly, Madoff is also a Democrat.

So, where did all of the money Stanford took from investors go?  Likely, some of it was donated to the Democratic Party and interests trying to get Democrats elected.  Stanford was a bigtime Democratic Party donor, having lavished the party with hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in campaign contributions over the years.  Stanford was known to hobnob with leaders of the Democratic Party and was filmed hugging Nancy Pelosi and being personally thanked by Bill Clinton.

I’m sure that some of the money was used by Stanford to live a lavish lifestyle typical of limousine liberals.  You see, liberal Democrats are entitled to live in mansions, eat fine food, travel by private jet, and drive gas guzzlers.  The rest of us are not.

Remember:  Barack Obama was the largest recipient of campaign contributions from Wall Street and mortgage company employees during the 2008 election cycle.  Do not be surprised to learn that these high-flying financiers ripping people off are Democrats.  The Democratic Party has been ripping off hard-working taxpayers for decades.  It fits the pattern.

Jeff Ament, bassist for the Bush-hating, Republican-hating, one-hit wonder rock group Pearl Jam was robbed at gunpoint outside an Atlanta recording studio late last month.

What makes this story so interesting is the cowardice displayed by Ament.  Democrat Ament was robbed of $3,000 in cash and $4,300 worth of equipment.  While being robbed, he decided to flee like a little girl.  He was chased and knocked to the ground, suffering lacerations to the back of his head.

In 2000, Ament donated to the Ralph Nader presidential campaign, according to fec.gov records.  In 2008, Ament and fellow Pearl Jam members Stone Gossard and Mike McCready supported Barack Obama by recording “Rock Around Barack”, a modification of the 1950s classic “Rock Around The Clock”.  Pearl Jam members have spoken out against Bush and Republican policies for a long time.  They also appeared on the anti-Bush “Vote For Change” concert tour during the 2004 campaign season.

Rich liberals like Ament and his fellow bandmates have been bemoaning the inequitable distribution of wealth for a long time now.  So why was he carrying $3,000 in cash?  Aren’t there hungry families who need that money more than someone who is already rich like Ament?

Liberals like Ament have been blaming crime on lack of opportunity in the capitalist system for a long time, too.  It seems to me that Ament should have been very happy to have his money taken from him.  He and other liberals like him have been begging the government to steal their money for decades.  So when someone shows the initiative to take his money directly instead of waiting for the government to do it, Ament runs away like a sissy.

Ament is nothing more than another liberal coward and fraud.  Hopefully, getting hit in the head has knocked a little sense into him.

It seems that someone has finally talked some sense into Obama’s dimwitted brain.  Obama is now refusing to release photographs of detainee “abuse” because military commanders say that doing so could whip up anti-American sentiment, create a deadly backlash against American soldiers, and inflame radicals into committing more acts of terrorism.

Really?  Why didn’t someone tell Obama this before he released memos detailing “harsh” interrogation techniques used against terrorism suspects?  What purpose did that serve other than to appease his anti-American liberal base and tip-off terrorists as to what to expect should they be captured?

Is this another example of Obama’s hypocrisy?  Is this an example of him playing politics with human lives?  Or is this an example of an unqualified, incompetent President flip-flopping because he realizes that pandering to his liberal base is dangerous to America and the world?

Meanwhile, all the gains we have made in Iraq are eroding under Obama’s leadership.  Afghanistan is turning into a hellhole.  And Pakistan is on the verge of being taken over by radical jihadists.

Millions of idiots voted for Barack Obama based on his promise that he would create millions of jobs despite the fact that he had never created one himself.  It turns out that he and his Democrat cronies are doing just the opposite.

The hospitality industry is asking Democrats to tone down the anti-business rhetoric because it is bad for their business and destroys jobs.

This part of our industry has been the source of undeserved and crippling attacks in recent months.  An environment has been created in America where legitimate business travel is being questioned and cancelled. This translates into additional loss of jobs, taxes, and travel-related revenues for an industry that is already hard-hit from the general economic recession.

Yes, that makes sense.  And that is precisely why Democrats will not be able to comprehend it.

Chrysler submitted a 40-page list of pending closures to a bankruptcy court judge Thursday in response to government demands it dramatically shrink.

Economists estimate 42,000 dealership jobs could be lost in the closings, not counting thousands of related jobs at suppliers and ancillary businesses that depend on spending by dealership employees.

That’s an average of 53 jobs lost per dealership, which is a reasonable estimate.  All because of Barack Obama.

I’ve written in the past about how jobs in energy-intensive industries are bearing the brunt of job losses because of impending Democrat carbon taxes.  With Chrysler, we have irrefutable evidence that Obama is directly destroying jobs.

What is most humorous is that auto dealerships, particularly good-paying mechanic jobs, are heavily unionized.  Unions supported Obama, and now he’s destroying their jobs.

Is this what they call poetic justice?  It certainly is sweet irony.

Over two-thirds of the jobs lost since the beginning of the recession in December of 2007 have come since Obama was elected last November.  When Obama was elected, unemployment stood at 6.8%.  As of April 2009, unemployment was 8.9%–and rising.  To contrast, in February 2008 the unemployment rate was 4.8%–almost half of what it is now.

I would love to meet an Obama voter who recently lost his or her job and laugh in their face.  We on the Right told you this was going to happen.  Sure enough, it is.  It is, afterall, nothing more than simple logic, which is something beyond the grasp of the Democrat mind.

As Obama is proving, sometimes change can be bad.

I’ve been saying all along that this Democrat claim that banks aren’t lending money to people has been one big lie.  I was right.

Kelly King, CEO of bank BB&T, said the following:

We have people in the street looking to give loans. This notion that people can not get loans is a myth. Banks are making all the good loans they can find.

No, it’s not a myth, it’s a lie.  A lie is a deliberate telling of a falsehood with the intent to mislead.  This is a Democrat lie intended to justify their goal of nationalizing banks by forcing them to accept government equity investments they don’t need.  Democrats want to control the banks.  Why?  Probably to justify their social engineering goals and for other nefarious reasons, I’m sure.  The Democrat desire to control everything comes into play, too.

Also in that article is discussion about some of the banks that got bailouts wanting to pay the money back as soon as possible.  They don’t want Obama meddling in their operations.  I can’t say I blame them.  I wouldn’t want a moron like Barack Obama interfering with my business, either.

It looks like Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been caught in a lie.  This is not surprising given that Democrats are pathological liars.

Back in September of 2002, Pelosi, the top ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, was given explicit descriptions of the interrogation methods used against terrorism suspects, according to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Pelosi previously denied knowledge of the U.S. using waterboarding or other harsh interrogation techniques.  But according to a Washington Post article from December 2007, Pelosi was made aware of the techniques, including waterboarding, during a briefing with three other Congressional leaders in September of 2002.  Pelosi raised no objections.

The truth is that Pelosi knew full well what the government was doing and she was comfortable with it.  She only spoke out against the tactics when she thought it would be politically advantageous.

Since that time, tens-of-thousands of civilians have been murdered by terrorists.  Civilians have been beheaded, kidnapped, and tortured by terrorists.  Pelosi hasn’t spoken out against these things, either.
