McCain Team Accuses Obama Campaign Of Lying
Democrats telling lies? Say it isn’t so!
Republican candidate John McCain’s team says that there were no discussions between them and the Barack Obama camp about accepting public campaign funds.
According to CNN, laywers representing the two candidates met on June 6th to talk about joint townhall appearances, and nothing more, officially. The McCain team vehemently denies that any negotiations about public financing took place at that meeting. McCain’s counsel Trevor Potter was quoted as saying:
We then spoke in general terms about the public financing system, with Bob (Bauer, Obama’s counsel) outlining reasons it could be considered ‘broken’ or irrelevant in 2008, and I explaining why Sen. McCain remained committed to it and thought it was good for the country.
I cannot begin to explain how the Obama campaign could twist my reiteration of Sen. McCain’s support of the system, and hope the two candidates would participate in it, into what they said today.
There you have it. McCain as of today is committed to eliminating private money from presidential campaigns while Barack Obama flip-flopped from his prior position and decided to indulge himself in all that tantalizing money from rich liberals and special interests.
Obama could reverse his position and walk away from private money and accept public financing. But he won’t. He says one thing and does the exact opposite. Barack Obama is a total and complete fraud.
If you read the dirty things Obama said about McCain when he announced he was turning down public financing, it also shows that Obama is not committed to running a clean campaign as he originally said he was. So much for ending dirty politics Obama…
